The UPSC examination is a national level examination conducted by the Union Public Service Commission. Stages Of The Examination

The examination is conducted in three stages – the preliminary examination, the main examination, and the interview. The preliminary examination 

Preliminary Examination: The first stage is a Preliminary Examination consisting of two objective-type papers (General Studies Paper I and General Studies Paper II). This is a screening test and the marks obtained in this examination are not counted for determining the final order of merit.
